Chapter 13 Page v7

BUNNIES! So many bunnies! Are they cuter than the snakemen? Or the bears? You be the judge! I should put up a poll. I’m totally going to do that later today on Twitter.

Mittie has been incredible on this vignette. Vote for Snow by Night on Top Web Comics and you can see her sketch for the next page.

Chapter 13 Page v6

Time to talk Snakemen, as Defiant Elk takes control of the story! The snakemen aren’t the last option for the Elders to discuss. Mittie shows us what else is being considered when you vote for Snow by Night on Top Web Comics. Bounce, bounce, bounce!

Chapter 13, Page v5

Da bears come to stay. It was a rough trip for them and their first years in the New World were hard. Famine, disease, and more were all overcome with the help of the native allies. How did the colonists pay them back? Defiant Elk has some thoughts on that when you vote for Snow by Night on Top Web Comics.

So I’m trying something a little different today. Some commenters have noted that the RSS feed leads to the journal page and not to the comic page. This is because our RSS feed is based on our WordPress site. To make it easier to get to the comic page, I’ve put the link up there at the top. Does it help? Is this something I should continue? Let me know your thoughts.

Da Bears arrive on Page 4 of How We Decided You’re People! Ah sailing bears. Who wouldn’t love them? If you want to see what the bears get up to next, please vote for Snow by Night on Top Web Comics!

This vignette was inspired by two things. The first was a section in one of the history books I read that retold that some of the First Nations did think the French were some kind of mutant bear at first because they were so short, smelly, and hairy. The second is a speech by Red Jacket, a Seneca orator who is one of the greatest American speakers. According to whom? According to William Jennings Bryan, who knows a few things about oration. Read Red Jacket’s speech for yourself.

My thanks to Mittie Paul for the art!

Just sit right back and you’ll hear a tale — tale of a fateful trip! Kit begins the story of the council that decided what to do about the newcomers on Page 3 of How We Decided You’re People.

Mittie Paul gives us an Art Shift! to let us know that it’s flashback time. And we also have chibi heads for the caption boxes! So cute! I’m going to ask her to do more of these. She’s really good at them.

Kit said that council almost decided that the newcomers were bears. Behold the Sailing Bears of Japethe when you vote for Snow by Night on Top Web Comics! Go now! They’re adorable. Thanks, Mittie!

What are the Japethans if not human? Toothy Kit and Defiant Elk offer a number of alternatives on Page 2 of How We Decided You’re People. This page is brought to you by the artists talents of Mittie Paul! She’s using two different art styles for this vignette to illustrate the flashbacks and present time. You’ve seen the present time art style. You can see the flashback style when you vote for Snow by Night on Top Web Comics.

Toothy Kit has a story for Blaise and for us on Page 1 of  How We Decided You’re People! Hold on to your tricornes and your tuques, because when Kit is your storyteller, it’s going to be a wild ride! You can see how well Blaise is handling it, when you vote for Snow by Night on Top Web Comics.

The artist for this vignette is Mittie Paul. She’s excellent with facial expressions and visual humor which is why she’s perfect for this vignette.

I hope everyone had a great Labor Day. Steph and I went to Baltimore Comic Con. There we met a lot of great artists and comic fans! In particular, I ran into Lee Cherolis of Little Guardians and Lynn Smith of Plume. Both are quality comics. I even met Hayley Atwell, whom I’ve admired since Pillars of the Earth. I’m also an Agent Carter fan.
