Almanac – Voyageurs
December 22nd, 2011This week’s almanac entry is the Voyageurs of Aradie. These canoe men are the long-haul truckers of the Everique wilderness. They paddle, they carry, then they paddle some more. It’s a life of toil, but it’s a life of breathtaking views and enormous independence. Aradie’s wealth could not exist without them.
In other news, I just got finished sending my payment so Snow by Night has a table at Katsucon February 17-19 at the National Harbor in Maryland. We’ll be in the Artists Alley. Brittany and I will both be attending. We’ll be bringing freshly printed copies of Chapter 2 to join our inventory of Chapter 1.We will also have a good selection of buttons, featuring Brittany’s art and colonial slang. Come say hello!
Almanac – Days of the Week
November 11th, 2011This week’s almanac entry is the Days of the Week. I originally intended to do this update about a month ago, but as I was working on it, I discovered that the days of the week were intricately tied in with the planets. So I had to take the detour for a bit and present the astronomy section. So at long last, here we are… the days of the week! As you will notice, philosophy in Corthis is not merely theoretical. It has a direct impact on the lives of the average person.
In other news, Katsucon approved Snow by Night’s Artist Alley application. So we’ll be going to Katsu! Come see us. We’ll have the chapter books for chapter 2 by then.

September 20th, 2011Almanac Reference: Sacre
Chapter 2 Page 21 is up. Blaise and Jassart caught the thief! Hurray for nets!
Ah, Intervention. It’s been three days and I’m still trying to recover (Part of that is the looming deadline with Wizards of the Coast). The convention is still very very new (in its second year) so attendance was a bit on the low side, but the number of artists and creators there was astounding. Just a small sampling of some of the amazing talented artists present: Travis Surber from Hainted Holler, Jen Zyren Smith from LaSalle’s Legacy, Eren and Kennedy from Tamuran, Megami from Annie, Robyn from Technoangel, Phil Kahn and T Campbel from Guilded Age, Tovias from Reality Amuck, and my arch nemesis Elaine Corvidae from Riven Sol. I also spoke on three different panels. I had signed up for two and got drafted onto the third. On those panels, I got sit alongside webcomic greats such as Pete Abrams from Sluggy Freelance and Mookie, the creator of Dominic Deegan. Man, it was an awesome time. I’m looking forward to going next year.
I’m loading pictures from Intervention onto our Facebook page. Check us out over there when you get a chance. Most of them are pure silliness. I stole Jen Zyren Smith’s stuffed weasel and took it around to all the different web comics in the dealers rooms and got pictures of him at each table.

Almanac – Updated Format
September 15th, 2011This week’s Almanac entry is an updated format. Diane and I (mostly Diane) have updated the format of the almanac to include graphics of books for each of the major topics. The subtopics are listed below each of the books. We have also included a Return to the Shelves link at the bottom of each subject page. It is our hope that this will make the Almanac easier to navigate.

Intervention is coming very soon. I encourage all of you to attend the convention. Harknell and Onezumi are two incredible people and are working very hard to put together the best Internet-culture convention I can imagine. Check out their site and see all the great guests and events. I’ll be sitting on two of the panels: (1) Young Punks Kicking It: the new kids on the block at 1 p.m. on Saturday and (2) Writing and Creating Three Dimensional Characters at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
