Chapter 11 Page 15
August 24th, 2015Whew! I’m back and I’m here with Chapter 11, Page 15. In it, we see the Toothy Kit Translation Service in action. She translates intent over the literal meaning. To see a great preview of Kit and Blaise together, please vote for Snow by Night on Top Web Comics.
My apologies for the slight delay on this page. I wasn’t happy with the lettering job on this page and didn’t have time to reletter it before I left. It was family vacation time — our first family get together since Elise’s passing. We went on a Disney cruise since that is the perfect intersection of what a little girl would put up with and what Grammy and Granddaddy were up for. Wow, Disney does a good job. The children’s center on the ship is amazing. Disney child care and children’s activities is beyond description. Charlotte also ran me ragged migrating between the kiddie, the water slide, the hot tub, the deep pool, back to the kiddie pool… I may post some pictures on the Facebook page. It’s easier to upload pictures there than here.
The Volume 2 books arrived while I was gone. I’m going to start the shipping to Kickstarter backers later this week. Next page is tomorrow night.
Almanac – Defiant Elk
August 20th, 2015This week’s Almanac entry is Defiant Elk, the latest Liranequois Cast member to be introduced. As a reminder, Monday’s update will be delayed due to Eric’s return from vacation.
Chapter 11 Page 14
August 18th, 2015Blaise and Toothy Kit learn a little more about each other as they discuss leaving Aradie on Chapter 11 Page 14. To see a sneak peek of Blaise’s progress on fixing what he broke, vote for Snow-by-Night on Top Web Comics.
Monday’s update may be delayed due to the timing of Eric’s return from vacation. I’ll still post his Almanac entry on Defiant Elk this Friday. See you then!
Chapter 11 Page 13
August 16th, 2015On Chapter 11 Page 13, Blaise regrets being useful. Toothy Kit also discusses trade, or rather, the lack thereof. And what’s this mention of a treasure? Vote for us on Top Web Comics to see a sneak peek!
Almanac – Distant Smoke
August 13th, 2015Our Almanac entry for this week is another new Liranequois Cast member, Distant Smoke. Eric wrote this and next week’s Almanac entry before setting off on vacation so that we’d still be able to keep to our usual 3/week update schedule. From the pattern, you can probably guess that next week’s entry will also feature a Liranequois Cast member – Defiant Elk.
Chapter 11 Page 12
August 11th, 2015As was previously mentioned in the Journal, Eric’s on vacation for the next few updates, so it’s just me, Diane, here to update the comic. I’ll also be reviewing and responding to comments while he’s gone, as well as receiving all those awesome new Volume 2 books in the mail.
Our newest character, Defiant Elk, makes quite the first impression with Blaise on Chapter 11 Page 12. Toothy Kit’s edited translations continue to amuse me, though Blaise has other opinions. To see the Liranequois’ idea of ‘fixing things’, vote for Snow-by-Night on Top Web Comics.
Chapter 11 Page 11
August 9th, 2015Toothy Kit introduces Blaise to her family — the Fox Clan on Chapter 11 Page 11. Clans are the family unit among the Liranequois and they are all determined matrilineally. This is why Toothy Kit is a member of the clan regardless of her father’s nationality. The Fox Clan is an invention of mine for the purposes of this comic. There is no Fox clan among the Haudenosaunee (aka, the Iroquois). I’ll be discussing the clans more in depth in a future Almanac entry.
To see Defiant Elk’s greeting to Blaise, please vote for Snow by Night on Top Web Comics.
I’m going off on a family vacation starting Tuesday. Diane will be handling the updates for the next couple of weeks. Volume 2 books should arrive while I’m gone. I’ll start shipping those out to the Kickstarter backers as soon as I get back.
Almanac — Toothy Kit
August 6th, 2015This week’s Almanac entry is Toothy Kit. She also shows up on the Cast page. She is the first of several Liranequois character to join the cast page. She’s proven fairly popular among the readers so far. I’m glad of that, because we’re going to be seeing a lot of her.
