Vote for Snow by Night on Top Web Comics

Vote on TWC for a sneak peek preview!

Upcoming Events

The seventh and last page of Feathers and Frost is now up.  This concludes our first vignette on Snow by Night. My thanks to Eric Schneider for a job well done. His ability to draw birds made this story come to life. He’s a fantastic artist and a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend him.

Next week, we turn back to the main story with Chapter 2 “The Trap.” The first page will go up on July 6. We’ll be ramping up to two pages a week shortly after that. Until then, the Top Web Comics incentive is a preview of Cienan yr Tuathal. Blaise was dreading a visit with Cienan. See him for yourself with a vote on Top Web Comics.

The almanac entry for this week is the Trablais Mountains. These mountains to the north of Sherbourg protect the city from the worst of the winter weather, while providing incredible vistas and beautiful foliage in the autumn. They are also the home to about 8 billion beavers (give or take a thousand) which is the basis of the economy in Sherbourg.

I’ve posted Page 6 of Feathers and Frost. The trees intervene and Winter wrecks havoc on the wilderness of Everique. Once again, Eric Schneider does a fantastic job with this page. My thanks to him for spelling Brittany while we put Chapter 2 together. Speaking of Chapter 2, only two more weeks before we pick up the main narrative and switch to posting two pages a week. I can’t wait!

New Almanac Page Format

June 19th, 2011

Hi, everyone, Diane here! Today’s update to the Almanac is not in the form of a new entry, but rather a new format that I’ve been working on for a while. Now that I have a month of summer break, I will (hopefully) be bringing a few more interesting site updates.

Eric and I were brainstorming how best to organize the Almanac after deciding our old system just wasn’t going to work. I think this one works out much better, but please let me know what you think! Thanks!

Page 5 is posted. Eric did a fabulous job with the art. I love what he did with the scene of the great migration. It came out better than I dared imagine.

This week’s almanac entry is the Grande Vire River. Since we’re following a myth of the Elakanois in Feathers and Frost, I thought it was appropriate to include some notes about the natural features of Everique. The river is the lifeblood of the colony so I decided to start there.

On a different subject, I’ve uploaded pictures from HeroesCon to the Snow by Night Facebook page. You can either follow the link in this journal entry or click on the little F icon on the side bar to the right underneath the Vote on Top Webcomic graphic.

Page 4 of Feathers and Frost is up. Brittany and I have returned from the back-to-back insanity that was doing Balticon and then HeroesCon. Both conventions were fantastic, but I haven’t had a chance to write up a con report yet. I’m still trying to dig myself out of the backlog that built up while we were gone for two weeks. I’ll do my best to have something up later this week.

Almanac – Hot Toddy

June 5th, 2011

This week’s almanac entry explores the hot toddy. This mixed drink appeared in page 1 of Feathers and Frost. It’s a delicious drink in cold weather, which it often is in Sherbourg, but it could be made iced for the summer months.

Brittany and I are down at HeroesCon this weekend. It’s been a great show so far. I’ll post a con report when I get back.
