Almanac – Antoine Dupuis

December 1st, 2011

This week’s almanac entry is Antoine Dupuis, the curator of the Museum of Sherbourg. We introduced him a while ago and I’m just now getting around to giving you some background on our botanist. There is always so much to do with a webcomic.

Almanac – Saronne

November 17th, 2011

This week’s Almanac entry is Saronne, the mother country of the colony of Aradie. You can find it under the Countries and Colonies section of Places.

The Washington Post is holding an open call for nominations for Best Webcomic of 2011. Brittany and I would dearly love to be nominated since the Washington Post is our hometown newspaper. But only if you believe its true. There seem to be categories so a bit of descriptive text about the comic and a link would be helpful. Thank you all for even considering us!

Almanac – Days of the Week

November 11th, 2011

This week’s almanac entry is the Days of the Week. I originally intended to do this update about a month ago, but as I was working on it, I discovered that the days of the week were intricately tied in with the planets. So I had to take the detour for a bit and present the astronomy section. So at long last, here we are… the days of the week! As you will notice, philosophy in Corthis is not merely theoretical. It hasĀ a direct impact on the lives of the average person.

In other news, Katsucon approved Snow by Night’s Artist Alley application. So we’ll be going to Katsu! Come see us. We’ll have the chapter books for chapter 2 by then.

This week’s Almanac entry is the inner planets under Astronomy. This covers the two luminaries of the Sun and the Moon as well. Some of you may recognize the order of planets as being the Ptolemaic model. Nuts to you, Neoplatonists!

This week’s Almanac entry discusses the outer planets that orbit Corthis. These are more than distant celestial objects. The philosophers say “As above; so below.” The planets have spheres of influence that affect daily life in Japethe and Everique. The entry discusses the outer three planets of Elus, Zenos, and Pyra.
