We didn’t get quite the same response to the Art Contest as I did last year. I have more prizes to give away than entries so far! So I’m extending the deadline for the Art Contest by a week to midnight on Saturday March 15. If you are considering submitting, please don’t let the alchemy theme get in the way. Alchemy is a broad subject. Any element would qualify. So a bit of fire. Or some dirt. A bit of wind. A pool of water. We also have the different alchemical theories, planets, metals, and more to draw from. Don’t let the theme hold you back from submitting!

Speaking of blasts from the past, I’m pleased to announce the artists for the vignette following Chapter 8 are Shazzbaa of Runewriters and Steph Stober of Final Arcanum. I’ve long been a fan of Shazzbaa’s work, and she did a superb job with Daughters of the King. If you’re a fan of Shazz (and you should be), you know that her comic is currently on hiatus and she’s not taking any personal projects. However, I already had her on board for this vignette when she reached that decision. We worked it out with Steph Stober joining the vignette team as the colorist. I’m so glad we did. Steph is another great artist with whom I’ve been wanting to work for a while. I’m very appreciative of Shazzbaa making the time in some difficult circumstances.
Entries for the Snow by Night Art Contest are due Saturday March 1 by midnight. We’d had some incredible submissions last year and the SbN team is looking forward to seeing this year’s creations.
Christina Major is running a Kickstarter Campaign for her hilariously awesome comic Sombulus. She’s so close to making this happen. Please join me in contributing her her Kickstarter and making this a reality.

I’ve got some recent convention news. Snow by Night will be at Animazement in Raleigh NC on May 23-25 and at Connecticon in Hartford, CT on July 10-13. I applied for an Author’s Avenue table for GenCon, but was wait listed. Cross your fingers with me to see if we can get into the four best days in gaming!

It’s been a busy week in the press department. Two Geeks Talking has uploaded our interview from last Saturday. Kurt asks us all sorts of questions about Snow by Night and webcomics. There’s a spoiler section at the end where Brittany and I give away far too much of what we have in store. And Brittany was interviewed by Katsucon, while she was in the Artist Alley. She does a great job representing us. Way to go, Brittany!

February 10th, 2014Blaise makes a hasty exit on Chapter 8 Page 17, as the binding circle collapses in itself with nothing to contain. I’m rather happy with the sound effects on this page. An update on our Art Contest! We’ve decided to adopt a theme for this year’s contest. The theme is Alchemy! Submissions should have at least one Snow by Night NPC and something to do with alchemy. We’re taking a broad view of Alchemy. It can be alchemical theory, processes, the elements, or anything else alchemical related. I’ll even consider astronomy to be part of Alchemy because of the strong influences that the planets have on alchemy. To see what people did last year, check out last year’s Art Contest archive.
Katsucon is this weekend. I’ll be there Friday and Sunday. Brittany will be there all three days. Books, buttons, and prints! Come by and get some merch and wacky conversation.
Brittany and I were interviewed on TGT on Saturday. You can see the interview on YouTube. Brittany is awesome, while I’m showing off my collection of old maps. Kurt, the interviewer, is a great guy and was a lot of fun to talk to.

Mythmakers is pleased to announce its 2014 Art Contest! We did this last year and it was a great success. So we’re bringing in back.
