Page 23 posted. The action moves back to the House of Jacks, where Jassart makes a discovery that he has trouble believing. Will Blaise and Jassart find the elusive thief? Only 5 more pages are left in Chapter 1, so they better hurry.
Speaking of chapters, I’m going to begin posting two pages per week starting with Chapter 2. Comic pages will post every Monday and Wednesday, and I will post a new Almanac entry every Friday. Only one page a week was too slow for me. I have so much I want to share with you all. This update schedule will let me spin the tale twice as fast. My thanks to Brittany and Ricky for stepping up for the additional drawing and coloring.
Finally, I’ve uploaded a new panel from page 24 as an incentive. Please vote for us on Top Web Comics.
Almanac – Gambling
April 3rd, 2011The almanac entry this week is gambling. Come learn about the games of chance played in Sherbourg, including dice, cards, and the newest creation – roulette! Where did this passion for gambling originate? Why are the gambling dens called hells? Be prepared to back up your wagers with coin, because debtors aren’t tolerated.

Page 22 has been posted for your enjoyment. I am very happy with how it turned out. Brittany did a great job with the long shot of Mathilde at her vanity and Ricky did a splendid job coloring it. Brit is particularly proud of Mathilde’s feet — as well she should be! I wish I could take credit for Mathilde’s dialog, but she won’t have any of it. She grabs the pen out of my hand and writes her own lines. Sigh, such a prima donna.
And we are just one page closer to meeting one of my favorite characters: Ald.
I almost forgot. There’s a new incentive pane on Top Web Comics. Please vote for Snow by Night.
Almanac – Aradie
March 27th, 2011Today’s Almanac entry is Aradie. And it’s high time I got around to telling you a bit about the largest colony in Everique and the setting for our tale. I am only scratching the surface of what I have to share about Aradie, but I wanted to give an overview. I’ll add more later.

Page 21 posted. Another fun page to write. I spent hours thinking of the most horrible puns I could. I even wrote to family and friends to solicit ideas for even more terrible puns. Alas for poor Blaise, all the effort paid off.
I’ve also uploaded a new incentive panel on Top Web Comics. To see a sneak peek at next week’s page, please vote for Snow by Night.
Almanac – Long Knives, Sabers
March 20th, 2011This week, I thought I would talk a little bit about blades, two in particular – the long knife and the saber. Jassart has a long knife and is using it in his gamble with Laurent. So it seemed a good time to discuss them. Read about them in this week’s Almanac entry.
In other news, I heard back from Otakon. I’ve been approved for a table in their Artists’ Alley. So Snow by Night will be making an appearance. I hope to have our first chapter book for sale at the convention.

Page 20 is up. In it, we visit our first gambling hell. A hell is a business that offers games of chance to the public. This distinguishes it from the private clubs that only allow members in. The House of Jacks is open to the public, which is how Laurent and Jassart were able to make it inside. Still, the servers at the gambling hell seem less than enthused with Laurent. For the fun of it, I’m calling the servers hellions.
I’ve also uploaded a new incentive panel on Top Web Comics. To see an enraged Mathilde, please vote for Snow by Night.
Almanac – History
March 13th, 2011Today our Almanac entry delves into the history of Aradie and Sherbourg. The entry covers the founding of the city, which was a dangerous time. It took three tries for the city to take root. While you’re there, check out the lovely new bookcase graphic that Diane put together for us.
And now some huge news: some of you may have noticed that the copyright information at the bottom of the page has changed. This past week I organized an LLC, which will be acting as a publisher for Snow by Night. This is the first step to bringing Brittany on full time. With her dedicated to Snow by Night, we can double the number of pages we post per week. So starting with Chapter 2, expect to see twice as much Snow as you’re currently seeing.
