Chapter 2 Page 3

July 17th, 2011

Chapter 2 page 3 is up in which Blaise and Jassart meet a very special lady. As for who she is, she is the subject of this week’s almanac entry which will go up on Friday. And hurray! We’re now posting twice a week. I’m very pleased that we are taking this step.  I’m really looking forward to sharing twice as much a week as I was before.

In addition to webcomics, I’m a pretty avid RPGer. In fact, I just had an article published by Wizards of the Coast. If you’re a fan of the Forgotten Realms, then you may enjoy my article on Daggerdale, which brings the dale up to the most recent date of 1480 DR. It’s been getting great feedback on the D&D forums.

Brittany, Diane, and I will be at Otakon at the end of the month. We’ll have buttons and books for sale.

Chapter 2 Page 2

July 12th, 2011

Almanac Reference: The Heavens

Chapter 2, page 2 is up. We will be switching to two pages a week starting next Monday. As I mentioned earlier this week, Brit has had some family emergencies that have prevented us from going to twice a week at the beginning of the month. She asked me to post the following:

Dear readers, I am sorry to say that the twice-a-week posting of chapter two will be delayed due to karma hitting me full force in a very short amount of time. The saying, “when it rains, it pours,” is an apt description of the deluge I got hit with.

Within a week or so I have lost a dear Aunt, my family’s dog of 17 years had to be put down, and my Mom ended up in the hospital (she’s ok now). I’m usually not one to wave personal problems as an excuse for missing a deadline but circumstances have forced me into an uncomfortable position. Take a week to put myself together and delay the twice-a-week posting or start posting and run the risk of missing an update down the road. After a long discussion with Eric we’ve decided to take the former and delay the dual update schedule for a week or so. We will move up to two posts a week as soon as possible. Again, I’m sorry for the delay in the two pages a week update schedule. Thank you for being understanding and reading Snow by Night.

~Brittany

I love my artist and agreed to delay switching the update schedule for a couple weeks. Fortunately, we’re now back on track. Thank you for your patience and readership.

*edit* Whoops. Forgot to load the new vote incentive on Top Web Comics. It’s up now. So see a preview of what Blaise and Jassart see when you vote for Snow by Night.

Chapter 2 Page 1

July 5th, 2011

Chapter 2 begins today with a fabulous image of Cienan yr Tuathal. He will be playing a major role in this chapter, so I wanted to put him front and center. Like the mask? We’ll see more of it soon…

The seventh and last page of Feathers and Frost is now up.  This concludes our first vignette on Snow by Night. My thanks to Eric Schneider for a job well done. His ability to draw birds made this story come to life. He’s a fantastic artist and a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend him.

Next week, we turn back to the main story with Chapter 2 “The Trap.” The first page will go up on July 6. We’ll be ramping up to two pages a week shortly after that. Until then, the Top Web Comics incentive is a preview of Cienan yr Tuathal. Blaise was dreading a visit with Cienan. See him for yourself with a vote on Top Web Comics.

I’ve posted Page 6 of Feathers and Frost. The trees intervene and Winter wrecks havoc on the wilderness of Everique. Once again, Eric Schneider does a fantastic job with this page. My thanks to him for spelling Brittany while we put Chapter 2 together. Speaking of Chapter 2, only two more weeks before we pick up the main narrative and switch to posting two pages a week. I can’t wait!

Page 5 is posted. Eric did a fabulous job with the art. I love what he did with the scene of the great migration. It came out better than I dared imagine.

Page 4 of Feathers and Frost is up. Brittany and I have returned from the back-to-back insanity that was doing Balticon and then HeroesCon. Both conventions were fantastic, but I haven’t had a chance to write up a con report yet. I’m still trying to dig myself out of the backlog that built up while we were gone for two weeks. I’ll do my best to have something up later this week.

Page 3 of Feathers and Frost is up. Eric Schneider continues to amaze me with his work.

Balticon was a fantastic experience for Brittany and me. We were in the Artists’ Alley which was right outside the main ballroom and in the hall that lead to the con suite. You couldn’t ask for better placement. We met with hundreds of sci-fi and fantasy fans and got to spread the word about Snow by Night. We met some great webcomic creators too. It was quite the list. Barb Fischer and Chris Impink have a great comic about roller-derby girls named Sledgebunny. Travis Surber tells of geeks living in a redneck town in Hainted Holler. Eric Kimball tells the story of a very unusual barbarian in Exiern, Elaine Corvidae terrifies me with her futuristic horror in Riven Sol. And our good friend Jennifer Zyren Smith continues her adventures on the high seas in LaSalle’s Legacy.

Whew. One con down and it’s off to another. Brit and I are heading down to Charlotte for HeroesCon this weekend. HeroesCon is a comic book convention that has a strong indie focus. I’m hoping to meet a lot of great fans and creators while I’m down there. If you’re coming to the convention, please come by and say hello. We’re at table SP-45.
