Birds of a Feather Page 3
April 1st, 2014Jassart offers Blaise a golden opportunity on Birds of a Feather page 3. It’s not going to be a legal opportunity, but Jassart is a lying rook. Shazzbaa and Steph did a great job with this page. I’m always impressed and entertained by Shazz’s facial expressions. To see where the boys head next, please vote for Snow by Night on Top Web Comics.
Art Contest! We’re in the final 4. Vote for your favorite pictures. You can vote once a day through Saturday at midnight.
Birds of a Feather Page 2
March 30th, 2014The man with the purple cravat makes his appearance on Birds of a Feather Page 2. Did you think we were done with him? Ha ha. He’ll be around for a while. To see how the first meeting between Laurent and Jassart goes, please vote for Snow by Night on Top Web Comics.
The first round of our Art Contest is done. My thanks to all the Elite 8 submissions, and congratulations to Laura Chilson, Amasugiru, Monica Marier, and Rein Eire who are moving on to the next round. We’re starting the Final 4 round today. You can vote once a day.
Birds of a Feather Page 1
March 25th, 2014Today we begin the vignette Birds of a Feather. For this vignette, we’re climbing into the WABAC machine and going back in time. Our destination is Sherbourg two years before current events to see Jassart meeting Blaise and Mathilde for the first time. To see who shows up next, please vote for Snow by Night on Top Web Comics.
This vignette is illustrated by two very talented artists. Shazzbaa of Runewriters is doing the lines while Steph Stober of Final Arcanum is doing the colors. I love their style. It’s perfect for our flashback to skullduggery and adventure.
Don’t forget to vote in our Art Contest!
Chapter 8 Page 28
March 23rd, 2014Blaise watches from a safe distance on Chapter 8 Page 28. Things have gone terribly wrong. All he has left are the two amethysts that were Snow-by-Night’s eyes. And with that we end Chapter 8.
On Wednesday, we’re beginning Birds of a Feather, the vignette for Chapter 8. For this story, we’re going back in time by two years to see how Blaise and Jassart met. As an incredibly special treat, our guest artists for the vignette are Shazzbaa of Runewriters and Steph Stober of Final Arcanum. To see a preview of their take on Jassart and Mathilde, please vote for Snow by Night on Top Web Comics.

Chapter 8 Page 26
March 16th, 2014The fire brigade arrives at the burning laboratory on Chapter 8 Page 26. Wooden colonial towns were prepared for fire as it was an ever present danger. We modeled that fire truck of off a working model they have at Williamsburg. To see the colonial fire engine in action, please vote for Snow by Night on Top Web Comics.
I’m pleased to announce the start of our 2014 Art Contest! We have 11 entries. This first week is the qualifier round. Instead of being paired against each other, for this round all the entires are in a single poll. You can vote for your favorite once a day. On Saturday March 22 at midnight, I’ll close the poll for the qualifier round. The eight submissions with the most votes will then move on to our Elite 8 round and be paired up for voting contests next week. To vote, visit our Art Contest Voting Portal.
Chapter 8 Page 25
March 11th, 2014Vivienne pulls Jassart from the wreckage of Bertrande’s Laboratory on Chapter 8 Page 25. Viv is an officer so Britt wanted her to carry Jassart away from the flames using a military pose. It captured Viv’s character very well. The fire crew arrives on the next page. To see a colonial fire engine (and yes, we found references), please vote for Snow by Night on Top Web Comics.
The Art Contest deadline is this Saturday March 15 at midnight. Submit your art for a chance at our cash prizes. I want to see your versions of our characters. We had some great submissions from last year and I’m hoping this year is just as good.
Chapter 8 Page 24
March 9th, 2014Vivienne finds Jassart among the burning debris on Chapter 8 Page 24. He’s looking a bit worse for wear. To see what Vivienne does next, please vote for Snow by Night on Top Web Comics.
The extended deadline for the Art Contest is this Saturday, March 15 at midnight. We’d love to see your versions of art and alchemy. The theme is a broad one that covers the elements, planets, plants, and metals. So don’t let the theme scare you. You can read all about Alchemy in our Almanac.
Some real world news. I read this article about mental health issues for children on Native American reservations in the Washington Post. I found the facts presented dismaying and I find it troubling that we’re overlooking a huge class of people in need. I think the Center for Native American Youth will be my charity of choice this year. I will continue to think of ways to help and possibly throw Snow by Night’s weight (what there is of it) in support of helping the youth in the tribes.
Chapter 8 Page 23
March 5th, 2014Vivienne plunges into the burning laboratory to find survivors on Chapter 8 Page 23. I do love Vivienne. She’s such a fearless character. That often gets her into trouble. Anyway, to see what Vivienne finds, please vote for Snow by Night on Top Web Comics.
Our Art Contest has an extended deadline – March 15. I’m thinking about giving artists even more fodder for consideration by discussing the planetary metals on Friday. The planetary metals are fascinating to me and could have all sorts of possibilities for the art contest.
