Fan Art Rendez-vous 5
March 25th, 2012This week’s Fan Art Rendez-vous is Convince Me by Andrea Bell. As you can see in the illustration, she’s got a wicked sense of humor. Please check out Mistress, her comic of high adventure, high romance, and high fashion.
Oh, great news! We won the lottery to attend Otakon this July.
Almanac – Carbines
March 22nd, 2012This week’s Almanac entry is Carbines – the weapon of choice of the dragoon (and therefore Ald). These nifty shortened muskets don’t have the accuracy of the standard musket, but you can use them from horseback and then let them dangle beside you on a hook and ring attached to a rail on the side of the carbine. Yeah, I geek out about stuff like this. This and historical architecture.
We have a convention coming up soon. Virginia Comicon. April 1 in Richmond. We’ll have chapters 1 and 2 as well as a variety of buttons. Brittany is out of town so I’m dragging Diane our Mad Alchemist Webmistress with me. It’s her first time manning the table. So come by and give her a hard time. I’m sure she won’t mind.

Page 5 of Law of the Riverside is up. Ald takes on the second canaille. What’s a canaille? Find out in the Almanac. To see a glimpse of next week’s page, vote for Snow by Night on Top Web Comic. It’s another flashback to Ald’s past.
Fan Art Rendez-vous 4
March 18th, 2012Another fine entry to our Fan Art Rendez-vous – Mathilde with Knave by Jennifer Zyren Smith. To see more of Jen’s marvelous work, check out LaSalle’s Legacy, Zyrenski Studios, bukittyan.deviantart.com, or zyrenskistudios.tumblr.com.
In similar news, Tangent Artists is doing a crossover of a laser tag competition between web comic creators and Snow by Night is featured. Go check it out. It’s going to be great fun.
Almanac – Muskets
March 15th, 2012In honor of Ald’s history in the military, this week’s Almanac entry is muskets. Muskets are a necessity in colonial Aradie just like they were in colonial North America. The importance of the musket can be seen by the number of phrases in our language that arose from muskets – lock, stock, and barrel, a flash in the pan, going off half cocked, and drop the hammer.
The Snow by Night team has received an invitation to Intervention on September 21-23 in Rockville, MD. This fabulous convention is a great way to meet a lot of creators of Internet media. It’s not just webcomics. They have a diverse array of guests. I highly recommend coming to check it out.

Page 4 of Law of the Riverside is up. Ald throws down. And he throws down hard. To see a sneak peek of more of the fight, vote for Snow by Night on Top Web Comics.
The Snow by Night team will also be attending a couple of conventions next month. The first is VA Comicon down in Richmond, Virginia on April 1 (and this is no April Fool’s joke). It’s one day only, but they’ve got some incredible talent attending. I am flattered just to be one the same room as some of these artists.
The next is Pittsburgh Comicon in Pennsylvania on April 20-22. They have list of guests as long as your arm with some impressive artists on it. Come by and meet us in the Steel City.
Fan Art Rendez-vous 3
March 11th, 2012Hi, it’s Brittany. Looks like it’s my turn to write here in the box! Luckily I get to introduce another fabulous piece of Fan Art for our new extras section! It’s called “Heartless Shadow” and it’s done by Marie August.
To see more of Marie August’s creations, read her webcomic Fairy Tales Twisted or visit www.marieaugust.com.
Almanac – Meddling
March 8th, 2012This week’s Almanac entry is Meddling. Meddling is a big cultural no-no in Sherbourg. It gets you into fights or dunked in horse troughs.
I am in Nebraska for the week for a family baptism. Brittany will be bringing you our fan art selection on Monday. Until then, have a wonderful weekend.
