Almanac – Giavere
April 25th, 2013This week’s Almanac entry is Giavere, the Starkindler, the Lady of the Moon, the Unicorn Maiden, patron of Arts and Sciences and the great spirit of Saronne. Her entry was a long time coming, but I wanted to save it for this scene.
Snow by Night got a couple of reviews. One I mentioned earlier by Ram Lama. The other is by Jande , the author of the graphic novel Aedre’s Firefly. They are both now up on the Extras page.

April 23rd, 2013Snow-by-Night and Blaise enter the Temple of Giavere to the hymns of the choir on Chapter 6 Page 20. I hope those candles don’t cause problems for Snow. To see a preview of next Monday’s page, vote for Snow by Night on Top Web Comics.

Snow-by-Night and Blaise discuss the merits of sunlight as they make their way to the temple on Chapter 6 Page 19. To see a shot of the interior of the Temple of Giavere from the next page, please vote for Snow by Night on Top Web Comics.
Ah Giavere, I’ve purposefully haven’t put her into the Almanac yet because I knew I had this scene from the beginning of the comic. So the Lady of Arts and Sciences will be joining the Almanac this Friday. Brittany and Naty have put together some lovely shots of the temple over the next several pages. I hope you all enjoy them.
Almanac – Ville-Marcelet
April 18th, 2013This week’s Almanac entry is Ville-Marcelet. This wild town is on the very edge of the frontier. Past its walls is the miles and miles of rivers, lakes, and forests of northern Everique. Civilization has a tenuous hold here with the wilderness a few steps outside the door. What? The town reminds you of Old Montréal? Hmmmm, interesting.
In other news, I’m almost done going through all the journal entries that accompany each page and adding Almanac reference links. This was Greg’s suggestion and a good one. I’ll be double-checking my links tomorrow to make sure they’re all working.

Mortals have five senses, but manitou have more. On Chapter 6 Page 18, Snow-by-Night tries to explain to Blaise how mortals feel to her as a spirit. In particular, she tries to explain how Cienan feels to her.
To see the Temple of Giavere in all its inked glory, please vote for Snow by Night on Top Web Comics.
We won the lottery and got accepted to Otakon’s Artist Alley. This is the biggest show of the year for us so we’re excited to be attending.

Vivienne comes to Blaise’s rescue as he wilts under Cienan’s interrogation on Chapter 6, Page 17. Opera houses in this era were hugely ornate affairs, and Sherbourg’s is no exception. To see Brittany’s fabulous drawing of the grand stair, please vote for Snow by Night on Top Web Comics.
Diane got all the bookmarks into the Almanac. I’m currently going through and adding in Almanac Reference links to the journal entry for each of the pages. It’s slow going, and I’ve gotten through Chapter 1. I’ll try to have this done by our Wednesday update.
Almanac – Opera
April 12th, 2013Hello, everyone! Diane here to report that the server issues seem to have cleared up, thankfully. Now that we can login to WordPress again, allow me to introduce yesterday’s addition to our Almanac – Opera! I love me some opera. Don’t give me that look, Cienan, I am totally an operaphile and this is not suspicious at all.
In convention news, Nekocon is asking which webcomics you are reading. If you like us, please let them know that you do. We’d love to be a guest at Nekocon and maybe host a panel or two.

Snow-by-Night and Blaise meet some old friends after the opera on Chapter 6 Page 16. Well, old friends might not be the right word. Terrifying acquaintances? To see a peek at next Monday’s page, please vote for Snow by Night on Top Web Comics.
The art contest entries have all moved over to the Extras page where you can peruse them at your leisure. My thanks again to all the talented artists who submitted entries. Just a head’s up. There’s a good chance we’ll be doing this contest again next year.
We got another review. Ram Lama reviewed Snow by Night and gave us 3 stars out of 5. Alas, he does not care for my humor, but he likes the vignettes.
