I’ve said my piece on Jassart before, and to be honest, I would love to see something happen here that would make me eat my words….

Hasn’t happened yet here, and I don’t think it will happen any time soon.

btw, love the vote incentive… that’s what I thought Toothy kit was up to, and I approve! (not that my approval or disapproval means anything, but I approve anyway!)!

Pass or Fail is vague area at this point. Really by acknowledging it is just a bad memory, but not accepting responsibility he is proving he is the vessel for Talons. He is all rage and hate. Maybe there was a better future for him, but he went about it the wrong way. Now the only future that lies ahead is path he is forging that is before him while he we get to see how he burned all his other bridges behind him. We get to see what lead him to this moment. Snow is coming to terms and accepting things Jassart is coming to terms and stating. Who cares I got what I want in the end. He is showing the makings of true Sociopath AKA Antisocial Personality Disorder.

Well, we don’t know yet what the passing criteria are. If he has to prove that he is a determined and strongwilled person that makes a good spirit dancer for this raging fire spirit, he passed his first test with flying colors. If he has to prove himself as a spiritually balanced person, who is at peace with the world surrounding him and acknowledges and takes responsibility for the consequences of his actions, his performance maybe wasn’t that good here.
Still, even in the latter case he did not entirely fail here. His father was being unfair. He was deeply in misery and regularly beaten up by his lord’s enforcers even before Jassart left and he refused to do anything to improve his or his families situation when Jassart talked to him about standing up against the injustice and/or fleeing. Jassart didn’t take much when he left (probably because his father didn’t have much to take in the first place), so while what he took and the absence of his own labour at the farm might have made the situation worse for his dad, Jassart isn’t responsible for his father’s problem and his scars in the first place. So Jassart passes when he refuses to let his father guilt trip him. Point deduction for rejecting him entirely instead of trying harder to make piece with him, though.

    “Well I’ll be damned”

Think we’d already worked that out.
