Hello, I’m new on this comic and French :D the French was almost flawless until now! But “ouais” is a modern word you’d definitely never hear in this time period, and “bien” and “chanteuse” are very weird things to say as compliments yelled onto an artist. I would expect more like “bravo”, “sublime”, “divin” maybe

I’ll shut up and keep on reading now! Thank you for making this comic!

I work with a native Québécois on the French that we’re stealing for the French Canadian flavor. Sometimes I get it right; other times not so much. He keeps telling me to add more poutine, but it hadn’t been invented in the 18th century! Thanks for reading! I hope you enjoy the homages to the colonial French architecture and fashion!

There has obviously been a great deal of effort put into establishing the atmosphere of this scene especially, both in the writing and the illustration. It really pays off.

It’s not flattery if it’s honest and heartfelt!

Very nicely done on the details! I love how even though she’s talking to only one of the thieves they’re all leaning in. Also the ‘marry me’ comment made me giggle–nothing like a bit of flattery for the pretty saloon singer =D
