Snow by Night

Today’s Almanac update is the final installment of Julie Wright’s four-illustration series, The Spirits of the Seasons with Father Winter. We’ve already met this seasonal spirit twice in the comic. Chances are, he’ll be back. Until then, here’s his poetical introduction.

A howling wind heralds his bleak approach,
and with each soft step, ice and snow encroach,
Burdened by regrets and hopes dead too soon
Lost in memories polished as the moon.

You may notice the wolf beside Father Winter. Is that Malsum? Or as Snow would call him “Daddy’s mean friend.”
